Each travel-sized Rewrite notebook keeps almost 1 pound of cotton scraps from going to a landfill or burn pit. That's almost 3 tee-shirts worth of cotton per notebook.
When cotton is cut to prepare clothing, scraps are usually discarded or burned in heaps outside the factory. Rewrite collects those scraps to reprocess into paper.
Scraps are shredded into pulp that is gathered, cast, pressed and hung for drying.
Sheets and cover materials are inspected for bumps and stray materials, removed and recycled while quality papers and bindings are assembled into beautiful journals and sketchbooks.
